Unique Custom Furniture, based in Fredericktown, Ohio, is dedicated to the artful creation of heirloom-quality pieces from reclaimed barnwood aged between 100 and 200 years—sourced from old barns located in Ohio as well as other areas of the United States and selected for their distinctive character and historical richness. Every slab of lumber is carefully hand-picked to preserve its unique grain, weathered patina, and storied past, ensuring each finished product carries a one-of-a-kind charm.

Many of the old barns were built using American Chestnut trees, which sadly have become extinct. Our furniture provides a way of reclaiming this beautiful wood and a part of American history, and placing it in your home to admire for generations.

The transformation process is as meticulous as it is reverent: beams are dismantled from barns, salvaged, de-nailed, re-sawn to suitable thickness, kiln-dried, planed, cut, sanded, assembled, finished, and finally packaged for delivery—top-tier attention to detail at every stage.

What sets every item apart is the craftsmanship—inlayed face frames, original hand-hewn elements, custom joinery, and the preservation of barn beam inlays—all culminating in enduring pieces that seamlessly marry historical authenticity with contemporary functionality.
